So Far From Home

About

So Far From Home is a game about finding stuff down the back of a sofa, built using Unity and C#. You're searching between the cushions for the key to your precious lockbox, but what else is down there? Every item you find tells a little piece of the story of your life and friendships.

The game features state of the art pillow mesh deformation and realistic dragging controls for the ultimate hand-down-the-back-of-the-sofa experience. It was made in 48 hours for Global Game Jam 2019, with the theme "What home means to you".

My role

I was one of three programmers in a team of six, and was responsible for handling the player's input. I designed and implemented the controls for choosing a crack, reaching into the sofa and pulling an item out. I also helped to create the tutorial that plays out at the beginning of the game.
